Roy Grundmann is an Associate Professor in Film and Television at Boston University, specializing in film studies within modernist and postmodernist contexts. His research spans American and European narrative cinema, international avant-garde film, and the intersection of media with cultural, philosophical, and political frameworks.
His work explores the evolving concept of media as infrastructures, environments, and ecologies, with a current focus on the Blue Humanities and the cultural significance of ocean liners.
