Roxani Tenta

Roxani Tenta is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Harokopio University. Her academic background includes a Doctoral degree in Experimental Physiology (2004) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology (2000) from the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI).

• Post-doctoral Research: Department of Experimental Physiology, Medical School, National University of Athens (2004-2006) in collaboration with Laval University, Quebec.

Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of physiological and pathophysiological conditions, particularly in bone metabolism, cancer (prostate and osteosarcoma), and nutrition's role in disease. She investigates apoptosis, autophagy, and pharmacological effects of natural/synthetic products.

Recent publications highlight her work on bone health analogs (2025), ER stress in autoimmune diseases (2024), and metabolic interactions in liver cirrhosis and sleep apnea (2023-2024). Her lab has published 35 peer-reviewed articles and secured 11 research grants.

She supervises undergraduate (15), postgraduate (18), and doctoral (2) theses, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches bridging nutrition, physiology, and oncology.
