Dr. Roweno Heijmans is an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen (80% position) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the NHH Norwegian School of Economics (20% position). He is also affiliated with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and teaches mathematics in the Central-German Doctoral Program Economics. His research focuses on game theory, environmental economics, and public policy, employing theoretical, experimental, and empirical methods. He holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Economics from Tilburg University.
Research interests include coordination games, climate policy design, emissions trading mechanisms, and the economic implications of environmental regulations. His work highlights systemic issues in carbon pricing frameworks, such as the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), and proposes solutions to enhance policy effectiveness.
