Ross Wilson is Professor of the History and Theory of Criticism at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of English. He is an Official Fellow and Tutor at Emmanuel College, where he serves as Director of Studies in English and Admissions Tutor in the Arts.

Academic Career: After studying English at Emmanuel College (graduating 2000), he completed an MA at UCL (2000) and a PhD at Cambridge. He held fellowships at Emmanuel College before teaching at the University of East Anglia (2009–2013) and returning to Cambridge, where he was promoted to Professor in 2024.
Additional Roles: He teaches undergraduate modules including 'Practical Criticism and Critical Practice,' 'History and Theory of Literary Criticism,' and 'Lyric.' Outside academia, he enjoys gardening, running, cooking, and heavy metal music.
