Ross Goutcher

Dr. Ross Goutcher is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Stirling. His research focuses on human perception, particularly 3D vision, multisensory perception, and decision-making processes. He holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow (2005) and has held postdoctoral positions at Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of St Andrews. From 2006–2011, he held an RCUK Academic Fellowship in Stirling, studying cyclopean surface perception. His current work explores how binocular disparities inform 3D structure perception and how statistical properties of the environment influence perceptual decisions. He is affiliated with the 'Cognition in Complex Environments' research group.
