Ross Chesham

Ross Chesham is a Lecturer in Health Sciences at the University of Stirling, where he joined in 2023. He splits his time between academic work, research, and private physiotherapy practice. His roles include teaching on undergraduate Nursing (Mental Health and Adult) and Paramedic Science programs, as well as contributing to postgraduate courses and the new MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) program starting in 2025.

Ross’s research focuses on breaking up sitting time across the lifespan and evaluating preoperative physiotherapy effectiveness. He also holds memberships in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and European College of Sport Science. In 2024, he received the University of Stirling’s Teaching Excellence Award for Teacher of the Year in Health Sciences & Sport. His professional qualifications include registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Physiotherapist.

Ross’s research aligns with themes like Living Well and is part of the Health & Behaviour Research Programme, Physiology, Exercise, and Nutrition Research Group.
