Rosechelle Ruggiero, M.D., M.S.C.S., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and a member of its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She specializes in pulmonary hypertension and has expertise in ICU outcomes in county hospitals. Dr. Ruggiero completed her bachelor’s degree in biology summa cum laude at Loyola College, medical degree cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and advanced training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UT Southwestern, where she served as Chief Fellow. She joined UT Southwestern’s faculty in 2011 and is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine.
Her research focuses on pulmonary hypertension and ICU outcomes, resulting in peer-reviewed publications and a notable chapter on pain, sedation, and delirium in Bedside Critical Care Manual. She actively trains residents and fellows in critical care and pulmonary medicine, earning the Outstanding Teacher Award twice. Dr. Ruggiero is affiliated with professional societies such as the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.
Outside academia, she enjoys running, biking, cooking, reading, and travel.
