Rose Pickering

Rose Pickering is a PhD candidate and Associate Lecturer at The Courtauld Institute of Art. Her research focuses on Édouard Vuillard’s representations of women (1890–1940), exploring connections between his artwork and Marcel Proust’s À la recherche du temps perdu. Funded by the Courtauld Scholarship (The Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust), her work challenges the marginalization of Vuillard within modernist discourse by analyzing his 'feminized' visual language in dialogue with Proust’s literary themes.
