Rosario Alvarez Blanco is a Professor of Galician and Portuguese Philology at the Faculty of Philology, University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), and a researcher at the Galician Institute of Linguistics (ILG). She earned her BA and PhD in Romance Philology from USC (1974, 1980), with a doctoral thesis on the Galician personal pronoun.
- Research Focus: Galician linguistic variation (diatopic/diachronic), comparative Portuguese-Galician grammar, and editing of medieval Galician texts.
