Rory Hill

Rory Hill is an Assistant Professor of Geography at Oklahoma State University, appointed since August 2023. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on cultural geography, emphasizing food systems, wine tourism, and the concept of 'sense of place.' He teaches courses such as Global Geographies of Food and Drink and Regions & Nations in Global Context, emphasizing contemporary issues like climate change and cultural geography. His work explores terroir in winemaking and the intersection of food cultures with regional identity. Courses taught include senior capstone projects and regional studies across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Fluent in English and French, his research spans France, New Zealand, and the U.S., with notable work on Burgundy’s wine traditions and post-pandemic wine tourism adaptations.
