Professor Ronald D. Boyd is a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and holds the Honeywell Endowed Professorship at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). As Director of the Thermal Science Research Center (TSRC), he leads interdisciplinary research in thermal science and engineering. Previously, he worked at Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories, focusing on heat transfer, fusion components, and reactor safety.
He has served as Department Head of Mechanical Engineering, raising academic standards across the College of Engineering. His contributions include establishing PVAMU's first industrially-funded capstone design program and founding the TSRC, which has engaged over 70 students and faculty. He advised the Phi Delta Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma for a decade, fostering student professionalism.
