Ronald A. Dye

Ronald A. Dye is the Leonard Spacek Professor of Accounting Information & Management at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, where he has been a faculty member since 1986. He holds a PhD in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on managerial accounting, management compensation, financial disclosure, information economics, and the economics of standards. He has authored over 40 influential papers in top journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research and Journal of Political Economy.

Dr. Dye has held leadership roles, including Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Information Management (2001–2011) and has been a visiting professor at institutions like the University of Southern California and Emory University. He serves on editorial boards for major accounting journals and has received accolades such as the Best Paper in Accounting Horizons (2016) and the Alexander Henderson Award.

His recent work explores strategic disclosure dynamics, executive compensation hedging, and the interplay between accounting standards and firm behavior. He has consistently examined how firms' accounting choices influence strategic decision-making and market efficiency.
