About
Ron Peck serves as Associate Professor of Biology and Chair of the Cell and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry Department at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He holds the additional administrative role of Associate Chair of Biology and teaches undergraduate courses including Biochemistry of the Cell II (BC368), The Cellular Basis of Life (BI163), Microbiology (BI248), and Biology Seminar (BI401).
His research specializes in microbial adaptation mechanisms within extreme environments, with particular focus on physiological and molecular biological responses. Key investigation areas include extremophile metabolism, novel regulatory systems in biochemical pathways, and molecular adaptations to environmental stressors. This work bridges microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology through experimental analysis of stress-response systems.
