Ron Novy

Dr. Ron Novy serves as Senior Lecturer of Philosophy and the Humanities in Student Transitions within the College of Education at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). His office is located in Main Hall 033C, and he can be reached at rnovy@uca.edu or by phone at (501) 852-2341.

Dr. Novy’s scholarly work centers on three interconnected domains:

• Trans-humanism: Exploring the ethical, metaphysical, and political ramifications of rapidly advancing technologies.
• Mental Illness and Narrative: Investigating how storytelling frameworks shape perceptions and experiences of mental health.
• Capabilities Approach & Critical Pedagogy: Applying Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum’s capabilities framework to educational praxis, emphasizing empowerment and inclusive pedagogy.
