Ron Briggs

Ron Briggs is a Teaching Professor at the School of Molecular Sciences, Arizona State University, where he teaches general chemistry lectures and physical chemistry lab courses. He manages the General Chemistry and Teaching Assistant programs, developing innovative active learning formats and classroom designs that improve student success and retention.

Dr. Briggs holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University (2004), an M.A. in Chemistry from San Diego State University (1999), and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego (1994).

His research focuses on analytical spectroscopy, chemical education, and improving pedagogical approaches in STEM education. He has been nominated for multiple teaching awards for his contributions to chemistry education.
