About
Roland Zech is a Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Jena. His research focuses on Quaternary landscape and climate history, climate change, glacial chronologies, and the analysis of paleosol-sequences, lake sediments, cosmogenic nuclides, biomarkers, and compound-specific isotopes (D, 18O, 13C, 14C). His work spans regions including Germany, Switzerland, Mongolia, Siberia, Central Asia, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
Research Interests include:
- Quaternary landscape and climate history
- Glacial chronologies and lake sediment analysis
- Application of cosmogenic nuclides and biomarker isotopes
