Rohit Prabu is a Researcher at the Department of History of the European University Institute (EUI). His research focuses on the Indian Ocean textile trade of the Dutch East India Company during the 18th century, supervised by Giorgio Riello and Emmanuel Mourlon-Druol. He joined the EUI in 2021 as part of the Fernand Braudel Fellow cohort. His work bridges early modern economic history, global history, and the history of capitalism, with particular attention to South Asia and transnational trade networks. Rohit’s research themes include the Indian Ocean world, business history, and the socio-economic dynamics of colonial trade.
