Rohan Khan

Rohan Khan is a Research Fellow in the Emmy Noether Research Group “Varieties of Reproduction Regimes: Institutions, Norms and Social Inequality” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. He holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Konstanz (2020-2022) and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Politics, and Economy from Zeppelin University (2015-2020). His research focuses on welfare state dynamics, reproduction policies, political norms, and their societal impacts. Khan has conducted guest research at KU Leuven (2024) and Humboldt University (2022), with prior roles in political economy and sociological research.

His work examines how public attitudes interact with reproductive policies and explores the health implications of such policies for women. Key contributions include developing an international reproduction policy database, published in Journal of European Social Policy and Forum Sexualaufklärung und Familienplanung. This database enables cross-national analysis of state regulation mechanisms in reproductive processes.

Khan’s research bridges comparative policy studies with empirical sociology, emphasizing methodological rigor in measuring institutional and normative factors. His interdisciplinary approach addresses gaps in understanding how policy frameworks shape family structures and gender equality.
