About
Rohan Ghatage is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of New Brunswick. His research examines late-19th and 20th-century American literature through lenses of African American studies, Black diasporic literatures, postcolonial theory, and intellectual history.
His current book project Reluctant Revolutionaries analyzes the complex relationship with communism in works by Nella Larsen, Lorraine Hansberry, James Baldwin, and Ralph Ellison, arguing for their tacit alignment with radical Black leftist thought. He has published in journals such as Modernism/modernity, MELUS, and James Baldwin Review.
Ghatage welcomes inquiries from graduate students interested in American literature and postcolonial studies.
