Rogier Creemers is an Affiliate of the Lau China Institute at King's College London and holds the position of Assistant Professor in Modern Chinese Studies within the School of Global Affairs. His academic work bridges Sinology, International Relations, and Law, with a focus on Chinese domestic digital technology policy and China's role in global digital governance.
He leads the NWO Vidi Project 'The Smart State: Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and the Law in China' and directs a Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs-funded project on China and global cybersecurity through the Leiden Asia Centre. As a co-founder of the DigiChina initiative with Stanford University and New America, he collaborates internationally on digital policy analysis.
