About
Dr Roger Ngwompo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath. He leads the Engineering with French programmes and is affiliated with the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control. His work focuses on modeling, simulation, and control of dynamic systems using bond graph techniques, with applications in aerospace engineering.
- Education: Diplôme d’Ingénieur (Electrical Engineering, INSA Toulouse, 1990); PhD (Control Systems, INSA Lyon, 1997)
Dr Ngwompo specializes in bond graph modeling, an energy-based graphical method for multi-domain engineering systems. His research spans systems inversion, control theory, fault detection, and dynamic modeling, particularly for complex systems like aircraft. Collaborations with Airbus UK highlight his application-driven work.
His recent projects include EPSRC CASE Studentships, Mexican Government Scholarships, and RAE Travel Grants, focusing on mechatronics systems synthesis and bond graph optimization. He contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through energy-efficient control systems.
