Dr. Roger Narayan is a Distinguished Professor in the Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University. His research focuses on biomedical microdevices, nanotechnology, and 3D printing, with over 200 publications and book chapters. He serves on editorial boards, including Biomaterials Forum and Applied Physics Reviews. Recognized as a Fellow of AAAS, ASME, and other organizations, he leads the Materials Research Society Bio Staging Task Force on 3D/Bioprinting and directs nanobiotechnology certificate programs at both universities. His awards include the NSF CAREER Award (2006) and the Brimacombe Medalist Award (2018).
Education includes a Ph.D. in Materials Science from NC State (2002) and an M.D. from Wake Forest University (2001).
