Roger Lewis

Roger Lewis is a Senior Professor at the University of Wollongong's Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences. His research focuses on terahertz physics, with contributions to terahertz science and technology. He holds a Doctor of Science (DSc) in Terahertz Physics from the University of Wollongong and has published in top-tier journals like Physical Review Letters and Nature Communications.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics, a lifetime Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society, and a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators. His teaching contributions were recognized through awards (details pending). He serves as Chair (2024–2026) of the International Society for Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves.

Recent grants include projects on reflectance spectra of amino acid crystals (ANSTO, 2024) and spin-wave modes in atacamite (2024). His supervision focuses on terahertz radiation applications and nanomaterials for thermoelectricity. He has led academic governance roles, including Head of the School of Physics and Associate Dean Research at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences.
