About
Roger Geiger is an Associate Professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and Group Leader at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in Bellinzona, Switzerland. His research focuses on T cell responses to tumors using systems biology approaches, with emphasis on metabolic regulation and proteomics. He holds an ERC Starting grant and an ERC Consolidator grant, and is an EMBO Young Investigator.
Education: Master’s and PhD in Biochemistry from ETH Zürich (2007, 2011). Postdoctoral training at IRB (2011–2016) and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (2016). His work integrates immunology, oncology, and systems biology to identify therapeutic targets in cancer immunotherapy.
Key research areas include immune oncology, metabolic reprogramming of T cells, and engineered bacteria for tumor modulation. His lab employs advanced proteomics and metabolic profiling techniques to dissect tumor immune interactions.
Scientific awards: EMBO Young Investigator (2018), ERC Starting Grant (2017), ERC Consolidator Grant (2021).
Grants and collaborations: Focus on translational research bridging basic immunology and clinical oncology. Active in mentoring early-career researchers through training programs at USI and IRB.
