Roger Frie

Dr. Roger Frie is a Professor of Education at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and an Affiliate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He holds dual doctorates (PsyD and PhD) and has held academic positions at Harvard, Columbia, and other institutions. His research bridges psychology, philosophy, and history, focusing on historical trauma, cultural memory, and moral responsibility related to racial violence and the Holocaust. He is a practicing clinical psychologist and supervises mental health professionals at the William Alanson White Institute.

His recent projects include studies on German memory, intergenerational trauma, and the sociocultural dimensions of psychological agency.
