Dr. Roger Austin is Assistant Professor and Writing Center Director in the English Department at the University of Northern Colorado. He holds an MA in English from University of Michigan-Flint and PhD in English from Georgia State University, where his dissertation examined sustainable archive practices for writing center praxis and research. His scholarly work focuses on writing center theory, composition pedagogy, and writing program administration.
Prior to UNC, he served as Associate Director of Georgia State University Writing Studio (2013-2017) and Instructor at Colorado State University (2017-2019). His research explores archive methodologies for writing centers and pedagogical approaches to composition instruction. Key publications analyze ePortfolio systems, qualitative studies of tutoring, and sustainable archival processes.
Teaching responsibilities include writing center administration, composition theory, and writing pedagogy courses. He currently directs the University Writing Center and mentors graduate teaching assistants.
