Rodrigo Ferreira is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Science at Rice University, focusing on ethics in AI and computer science curricula. He holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Philosophy and is a Faculty Scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy, leading AI Policy and Governance research. He serves on Rice's Responsible AI and AI Advisory Committees, and the Science and Technology Studies Program’s Steering Committee.
Education: PhD in Media, Culture, and Communication (NYU, 2019); MA in Humanities and Social Thought (NYU, 2014); BA in Philosophy and Psychology (NYU, 2009).
Research explores ethics of computing, computational culture, tech policy, and intersections of philosophy/STEM education. His work appears in ACM/IEEE publications and Teaching Ethics, with media features in The Houston Chronicle, Telemundo, and NPR.
