Rodolpho Leoni, born in 1963 in Campo Grande, Brazil, is a Professor for Modern Dance/Choreography at the Folkwang University of the Arts since 2006. He has been the Artistic Director of the Folkwang Dance Studio since 2008, collaborating with renowned figures like Pina Bausch until her death in 2009. Leoni founded the first modern dance company in his native region in 1981 and later established his own company, rodolpho leoni dance, in 1996.
His work spans choreography, artistic leadership, and education, with notable contributions to modern dance companies such as Ballett Nürnberg, Tanzkompanie St. Gallen, and Tanztheater Bremen. He received the prestigious German Producer Prize for Choreography (DPC) in 2005/06.
