Rodolphe Gozlan is a Research Director at IRD (Institut de recherche pour le développement) and core member of the Aquaculture, biodiversity, health team at the Institute of Evolutionary Sciences of Montpellier (ISEM), which operates under the University of Montpellier consortium. He additionally coordinates the GAIA Doctoral School and serves as Associate Editor for two prominent journals: Journal of Fish Biology and Iranian Journal of Ichthyology.
His research confronts critical planetary health challenges through three interconnected themes:
- Disease ecology: Mechanisms of pathogen emergence in aquatic systems
- Anthropogenic impacts: Effects of deforestation and biodiversity loss on disease transmission
- One Health integration: Interconnections between animal/human health in changing environments
As GAIA Doctoral School Coordinator, he leads graduate training initiatives in evolutionary sciences. His team at ISEM conducts interdisciplinary research at the aquaculture-biodiversity-health nexus.
