Rodger Smith

Rodger Smith is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Communication at George Mason University, serving as the Undergraduate Academic Advising Director. He teaches courses such as COMM 359 (Digital Media Management), COMM 148 (Podcasting & Radio Workshop I), and COMM 372 (Sports and the Media). Smith also advises WGMU, the university's online radio station, which covers Mason athletics and produces student-led programming.

His research interests focus on media's impact on culture, daily life, and technology, with a particular emphasis on radio production and educational media. He previously worked in radio as a news director, sports director, and on-air personality at stations like WFTR and WUSQ. Smith directs the WGMU Summer Podcast and Radio Camp, an educational program for middle and high school students.
