Roderick Clark, MD, MSc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology and the Department of Public Health Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine. He is affiliated with the Penn State Cancer Institute where he specializes in Cancer Control research and provides clinical care at the Penn State Cancer Institute and Penn State Health Surgery Specialties in Hershey, PA.
Dr. Clark earned his Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine (Canada) in 2015, completed his Urology Residency at the University of Western Ontario (2015-2020), and pursued fellowship training in Urologic Oncology Surgery at the University of Toronto (2020-2022). He also holds a Master of Science in Community Health and Epidemiology from Dalhousie University.
Dr. Clark's research focuses on the epidemiology, genetics, and clinical management of urologic cancers, with particular emphasis on prostate cancer. His work aims to better identify and treat high-risk individuals and examines changing population-level trends using large administrative databases. Clinically, he has advanced expertise in MRI and micro-ultrasound targeted prostate biopsy, transperineal prostate biopsy, focal therapies for prostate cancer (including high-intensity focused ultrasound), SpaceOAR hydrogel administration, robotic prostate cancer surgery, and salvage procedures.
His recent publications demonstrate a focused research trajectory in prostate cancer management, testicular cancer outcomes, and innovative urologic oncology approaches. His scholarly work spans epidemiological studies, clinical management strategies, and surgical innovations with particular attention to high-risk prostate cancer, testicular teratoma, and optimized treatment protocols.
