Rocio Luque is an Associate Professor at the University of Trieste's Department of Legal, Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies. She holds multiple academic leadership roles including membership in the Department Council and Joint Teacher-Student Commission. Her teaching responsibilities span Applied Interlinguistic Communication programs (SL01, SL01A) and Interlinguistic Communication Applied to Legal Professions (SL02).
Her research focuses on sociolinguistics with specialization in gender discourse analysis, legislative language, and citizenship studies. She currently leads two funded projects: the university-funded 'Microgrant Dr. Luque' (2023-2024) and the Ministry-funded 'DiLeGIS Observatory' analyzing gender discourse in Italian and Spanish legislation (2023-2026).
In the DiLeGIS project, she collaborates with researchers including Jose Francisco Medina Montero and Alice Pagano, examining the intersection of language, gender equality, and democratic participation.
