Robin L. Dole is the Dean of the College of Health & Human Services at Widener University, where she also holds the rank of Professor of Physical Therapy. Her academic roles include leadership in pediatric physical therapy, education innovation, and civic engagement initiatives. She oversees programs in Physical Therapy (DPT) and Health Professions Education (PhD).
Education: EdD in Child and Youth Studies (Nova Southeastern University, 2000); MS in Physical Therapy (University of Indianapolis, 1995); DPT (MGH Institute for Health Professions, 2009); BS in Physical Therapy (Ithaca College, 1988).
Research interests focus on pediatric physical therapy, competency-based education, curriculum design, and service-learning. She leads initiatives such as the Chester Community Clinic, a student-led pro bono service, and collaborates on studies about civic engagement and leadership in healthcare education.
Awards include the 2024 Carlin-Michaels Achievement Award (APTA Pennsylvania), 2022 Stanford Award (APTA Academy of Education), and 2011 Service Award (Pennsylvania APTA). She is a member of APTA’s House of Delegates and serves on its national board.
Her leadership spans program development, facility upgrades, and strategic expansion of health science programs at Widener. She advocates for competency-based training and lifelong learning in physical therapy practice.
