Robin King

Robin King serves as Senior Lecturer in the Writing Program at University of California, Santa Cruz, with dual appointments as teaching fellow across three campus initiatives: The Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS), Oakes College, and the Educational Opportunity Programs/Hispanic Serving Institute (EOP/HSI). Since 1998, she has designed courses emphasizing research-based explorations of social justice, emotional intelligence, and cultural trauma, prioritizing marginalized perspectives.

• Education: Undergraduate and graduate degrees from UC San Diego in Film & Video
• Media Work: Produced MFA project on 1940s Southern Tenant Farmers Union poetry/music; early cable TV career included roles at Southwestern Cable TV and Viacom Cable TV

As DEI Coordinator for the Writing Program, she leads curriculum development like the CARA food politics course series for Oakes College, analyzing social justice within food systems and highlighting UCSC's agricultural activities.
