Robin Hextrum

Robin Hextrum is a tenured Associate Professor and Chair of the Visual Art Program at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, within the Fine and Performing Arts school.

Research Interests focus on environmental themes, anthropomorphizing animals, and cross-cultural dialogues between Eastern and Western art traditions. Her work interrogates climate change through surreal juxtapositions like Dutch still lifes merged with Chinese landscapes, and explores gender dynamics in art via historical and contemporary frameworks.

Artistic Trends include 21st-century eco-critical narratives, hybrid realism/abstraction, and revisionist historical portraiture reimagining animals as protagonists in human-centric art.
