Robin D. Muhammad is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of African American Studies at Ohio University's College of Arts and Sciences. He teaches foundational courses such as Introduction to African American Studies, African American History I and II, and specialized topics including History of the Black Worker and The Black Press in North America.
His recent publications reflect a strong trajectory in African American labor history, civil rights movements, gender and work, and transnational Black politics. Themes across his articles include racial segregation in wartime industries, Black women's labor activism, the Double V Campaign, and the global reach of Garveyism. His forthcoming book, Arsenal of Liberation, synthesizes much of this research into a comprehensive study of African American workers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
