Robin Berg

Robin Berg is a Course Instructor at the Florence School of Regulation (FSR), part of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. He is an entrepreneur and innovator based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and serves as CEO of We Drive Solar, a company he founded in 2016 specializing in bidirectional electric vehicle charging solutions.

His research focuses on renewable energy integration and decentralized energy systems, with pioneering work in solar power generation, smart grid development, and vehicle-to-grid technology. Berg installed solar plants on 25 Utrecht school roofs in 2008, interconnected with EV chargers through one of the Netherlands' first private grids, and has achieved international firsts in bidirectional charging through collaborations with Nissan, Hyundai, and Renault.

At FSR, Berg teaches "Smart Integration of Electric Vehicles in Europe," bridging industry innovation with academic training. His expertise spans energy market design, carbon market integration, and peer-to-peer energy trading frameworks, contributing to EU policy dialogues on decentralized energy systems and climate ambition.
