Robin Allan is a Professor of Legal Writing at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She joined Berkeley Law's First Year Skills program in 2015, bringing extensive experience in legal education and practice. Her academic background includes a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (cum laude, Order of the Coif) and an A.B. from Harvard College.
She has clerked for federal judges across three jurisdictions: the Hon. Mary A. McLaughlin (Eastern District of Pennsylvania), the Hon. Marjorie O. Rendell (Third Circuit Court of Appeals), and the Hon. Elizabeth D. Laporte (Northern District of California). Before joining Berkeley, she practiced white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation at Cooley, LLP in San Francisco, and taught Advanced Legal Writing at Stanford Law School.
