Roberta Ricciarelli

Roberta Ricciarelli is an Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental Medicine (DIMES) within the School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Genoa. Her academic roles include teaching in multiple programs such as Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Nursing, and Biotechnology, with a focus on General Pathology.

Her research spans neuroscience, pharmacology, and molecular biology, particularly investigating neurodegenerative diseases, viral-induced amyloid aggregation, and therapeutic interventions like phosphodiesterase inhibition and curcumin enhancement.

Recent publications highlight her work on Charcot Marie Tooth disease models, spinal cord injury recovery, and the impact of SARS-CoV-2/HSV-1 on cerebrospinal fluid protein dynamics, reflecting interdisciplinary approaches in neuropharmacology and translational medicine.
