Associate Professor Robert Weatheritt is an UNSW Sydney faculty member in the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences and a Lab Head at the Garvan Institute. He holds an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship and leads research combining data science with CRISPR screening and transcriptomics to study RNA's role in cellular phenotypes.
- Education: PhD at EMBL Heidelberg, postdoctoral work at University of Cambridge and University of Toronto
- Research Focus: Alternative splicing, RNA biology, autism genetics, and proteomic regulation
His lab has produced over 40 publications in Nature, Cell, and Science, including breakthroughs in autism-linked microexon regulation and nuclear RNA architecture. Awards include ARC Future Fellowship and NSW Cancer Council grants.
