Robert Rouse is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literatures at the University of British Columbia, where he has taught since 2005. His research focuses on medieval and early modern literatures with particular emphasis on

- Ecocritical Approaches
- Medievalism in Contemporary Media
His scholarly work examines intersections between medieval cultural production and modern critical frameworks, including digital medievalism (video games) and television medievalism (particularly A Game of Thrones). He has received international recognition for his scholarship, including the 2013 James Randall Leader Prize.
