Dr. Robert Robinson is a Research Professor in the Department of Physics at Catholic University of America's School of Arts and Sciences. With over four decades of experience, his career spans leadership roles at the National Science Foundation and NASA-focused research in space weather and ionospheric physics.
Research Focus: Dr. Robinson specializes in auroral electrodynamics investigations using multi-instrument approaches, including incoherent scatter radar systems in polar regions. His work establishes methodologies for determining ionospheric conductivities and plasma structuring processes.
Leadership & Recognition: Having managed the U.S. network of incoherent scatter radars at NSF, Dr. Robinson received multiple NASA achievement awards and founded AGU's Space Weather journal. He currently leads NASA's Partnership for Heliophysics and Space Environment Research.
