Robert Putz is a Lecturer in Mathematics at Bard College at Simon's Rock since 2016. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Washington University and a BS in Mathematics from Brooklyn College. His academic career includes teaching at CUNY, Columbia University, and Yeshiva University’s Belfer Graduate School of Science. Supported by the National Science Foundation, his research focuses on non-Markovian models in finance and stochastic macro-economic models inspired by Farjoun and Machover’s work. He has also contributed to network optimization at JCPenney and quantitative financial analysis at Solomon Brothers and Sanford Bernstein.
Research interests span harmonic analysis, mathematical finance, and macroeconomic modeling. His work has been published in journals like the Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society and Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, with collaborations including papers with A. Koranyi and A. Kaplan.
Outside academia, Putz enjoys rowing, bridge, ukulele, and woodworking.
