Robert Pollin

Robert Pollin is Distinguished Professor of Economics and Co-Director of the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research spans political economy, green growth, employment policies, and financial regulation. With a PhD from the New School for Social Research, Dr. Pollin has held academic positions at UC Riverside and UMass Amherst.

Dr. Pollin's work focuses on developing equitable economic policies, including living wage initiatives, green energy transitions, and financial market reforms. He has consulted for international organizations including the UN Development Program and World Wildlife Federation. Recent research examines sustainable economic models, climate change mitigation, and alternatives to austerity economics.

Honors include being named among Foreign Policy's 100 Leading Global Thinkers and receiving distinguished teaching and research awards. His publications advocate for employment-targeted programs, financial transaction taxes, and climate justice policies that support workforce transition.
