Robert McQueen

Robert McQueen is a Lecturer at the Don Wright Faculty of Music, Western University, where he works as a director, dramaturge, and educator with extensive international experience across theatre and opera. His career spans commercial theatre, opera productions, and new play development throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.

McQueen's research and professional focus centers on theatrical direction, dramaturgical innovation, and music theatre pedagogy. He has directed award-winning productions including Fun Home (2018 Toronto Theatre Critics Association Award winner) and Life After (2018 Dora Mavor Moore Award winner), alongside significant opera works for major companies like the Canadian Opera Company and Arizona Opera. His practice bridges classical repertoire with contemporary new works development.
