Robert Mathews

Associate Professor Robert Mathews OAM is an honorary academic at the University of Melbourne Law School and former Head of the Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) Arms Control Unit at Australia's Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO). His career spans over four decades in chemical warfare research, international disarmament diplomacy, and legal frameworks for arms control. He has held roles as Scientific Adviser to Australia's UN Delegation for the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) negotiations and provided technical support to the OPCW in The Hague.
