Robert Lutz is Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School, specializing in International Law, Trade, and Dispute Resolution. He joined Southwestern in 1978 after clerking for Chief Judge Edward Schwartz (S.D. California), practicing at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro, and directing USC's Institute of Coastal Law. He holds a B.A. from USC (1968), J.D. from UC Berkeley (1971), and completed Humboldt Foundation Fellowships in Germany.
His research examines:
- International dispute resolution and arbitration
- NAFTA/WTO frameworks and trade ethics
- Transnational legal education reform
- Environmental law and hazardous materials regulation
