Robert J. Twieg

Dr. Robert Twieg is Professor at Kent State University's Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute, specializing in organic materials with novel optical and electronic properties. His research encompasses liquid crystal systems for display technologies, nonlinear optical materials for electro-optic applications, and photorefractive polymers.

Current work focuses on developing high-birefringence liquid crystals through molecular engineering approaches including selective fluorination and conjugated oligomer design. Collaborative projects extend to implementation in polymer-dispersed liquid crystal displays and optical device applications.
