Robert Gilliland

Dr. Robert Gilliland is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Information, & Engineering Technology at Youngstown State University (YSU). He holds a Ph.D. from Northcentral University (2021), focusing on generational impacts of IoT risk, along with multiple advanced degrees from YSU and Capella University. His research emphasizes cybersecurity, IoT security, risk management, and digital twin technologies. Dr. Gilliland has been actively involved in teaching since 2000, progressing from Adjunct Faculty to Lecturer and his current role. He has received recognition including the Golden Key National Honor Society Award (2016) and a certificate for research contributions at ICSM 2020. His professional experience spans IT leadership roles in healthcare and web services, complemented by volunteer leadership in the Knights of Columbus.
