Robert Geraci is the Knight Distinguished Chair for the Study of Religion and Culture and Professor of Religious Studies at Knox College. His research focuses on religion, science, and technology with a particular emphasis on AI and digital cultures. He holds a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, alongside degrees from UCSB and the University of Texas.
Geraci’s work bridges global perspectives, including collaborations in India and Korea. He explores how religious narratives shape AI development and ethics, challenging apocalyptic AI visions through cultural analysis. His research spans AI ethics, South Asian religions, and virtual worlds, informed by fieldwork in India and academic grants including Fulbright awards.
